From text to book

First design – a conventional layout, Optima font used, a bit boring…

a mini-book that accompanies the text containing where each of the sections would be placed in a book…

Second design – Franklin Gothic & Baskerville used, the positioning of the text is sometimes related to the information it contains.

Third design –  laying the text on top of photos of books relating to the information.

From the feedback I received, the preferred design is the second one – it is more visually exciting…

  • the cover needs to be worked on – make the text bigger & have ‘book’ on one line
  • increase the leading of the body copy
  • don’t have the layout all over the place on every spread though
  • possibly increase the size of the book
